Anna Kulachek — Moscow, Russia

“It’s not as necessary as before, of course, because we have a digital platform for communication, but in general it all depends on the city and its size. For example, in Moscow we don’t have places for putting up posters and most people travel by subway or car. In the underground there is also no space for communication, only for state projects or purchased advertising. In the end it’s much easier to make a Facebook event. But in Venice, which is a really pedestrian city, printed stuff works really well. I have often wandered into a gallery there, drawn by a street poster.”

Anna Kulachek is Moscow-based graphic designer from UA. A former intern at the Fabrica Benetton communication centre, she is currently art director at the Strelka Institute of Media, Architecture and Design in Moscow and teaches at the HSE Art and Design School.
