Shutupandance — David Matos — Berlin, Germany

“The tangible reality of printed matter is not (yet) replaceable by bits. One could argue that its value has even increased, as ink and paper, unlike pixels on a screen, provide a concrete link to a specific purpose: one message. The printed poster is on the rise, with more posters than ever on the streets, temporarily covering otherwise ugly walls, alleys and unsuspected spots, away from digital screens. Things will inevitably evolve, digitally and beyond, but value in public space is not always defined by what shines the most. Sometimes, meaning defines value.”

Shutupandance is the independent design practice led by David Matos, who works with a small list of cultural agents and companies worldwide, providing art direction and design. Shutupandance started in 2010 and is based in Berlin.
