Mesghali Studio — Ehsaan Mesghali — Culver City, USA

“Superficially, one could simply say, 10 dollars, or whatever value is assigned to that work. On the other hand, one could write an entire book about the nature of digital art and how it has changed the landscape of visual design forever, with an entire generation of artists like myself that are quite removed from the hand-made quality of printed work. I personally am a fan of printed work, and I find value in methods and techniques that pay homage to the craft of laying ink on paper to express quality and justify value in the final piece. This is why I find screen-printing, letterpress and other analogue methods of production such as offset printing far superior to simple four-colour digital prints.”

Ehsaan Mesghali was born and raised in Culver City, California. He began formal studies in the arts from a young age and then worked as a freelance in branding, typography and illustration. In 2012 he continued his higher education at the Graduate School of Architecture Planning and Preservation at Columbia University in the city of New York. Since then, he has been published in numerous journals and magazines. He is also involved in academia and has taught courses in visual design at Columbia, Cal Poly Pomona and the Los Angeles Institute of Architecture and Design.
