Gemma Goode — Hereford, UK

To me, good typography should be aesthetically pleasing and catch your eye. It doesn’t necessarily have to be perfectly legible – having to work a little harder to read what a beautiful piece of typography says can make the piece more interesting.

British freelance artist and illustrator Gemma Goode has been producing her art and design for more than six years now. Among all the fields that she participates in, she picks typography – both digital and hand-drawn – as her favourite. When you look at Goode’s typography, you will probably derive an impression of embroidery – even though none of it involves any fabric or stitching.
