Malika Favre — London, UK

"I think that the line between cheap and playful is very thin and is a different one for each person that creates or looks at erotic art. I believe my illustrations have a strong feminine touch and couldn’t offend or shock anyone who considers sex a playful thing. I never show anything as such, merely suggest what could be happening on the page. The eye of the viewer does the rest."

French artist Malika Favre, currently based in London, draws minimalist, curvy and often sexy illustrations and she is a strong believer that less is more. She recently designed a new edition of The Kama Sutra for the Penguin Deluxe series, that has provoked some ripples of controversy.
