Theo Jansen — The Hague, The Netherlands

Jansen has been occupied with making new forms of life — "skeletons that are able to walk on the wind and don't have to eat."

Theo Jansen studied technical science in Delft, The Netherlands, but chucked it all up to become a painter. Since 1990, he has been occupied with making new forms of life. No, not pollen or seeds, but plastic yellow tubes that he used as his basic material, creating "skeletons that are able to walk on the wind and don't have to eat."
