Tokyoplastic — London, UK

The joy of conferences? The fact that its kind of like being a slightly crap celebrity. You are sort of semi famous for about five minutes, people are interested in what you have to say and you feel like your life might have amounted to something, then you go home.

Tokyoplastic the website was established by Andrew Cope and Sam Lanyon Jones in 2004. Its phenomenal success propelled them both into the world of television and cinema commercials. They didn’t sell out completely, though, and continued to work on personal projects that “amused the interweb and provided people with too much money and time on their hands with something to buy”.
