Tom Froese — Vancouver, Canada

"In spite of having a quirky side, at heart I think I embrace modernist design principals, always aiming for simplicity, clarity, directness and balance."

Tom Froese is a designer and illustrator living and working in Vancouver. His work does not necessarily reflect a very marked individual style, but it usually has a quirky yet modern sensibility. It is almost always influenced by his sense of humour on the one hand and his serious, detail-oriented approach on the other. It can be both flippant and philosophical at the same time – a strangely attractive mix. One thing he finds hard to resist is referencing vintage and out-dated sources, especially from the middle of the last century.
