Katarzyna Surman — Pusz — Sedziszów Małopolski, Poland

What is the attraction for you of creating illustration? “Freedom. We can afford uncontrollable creativity. You can invent and combine colours, shapes and emotions. I love entering the world of history that I have to draw and trying different solutions. Illustration is an adventure. There are drawings that I could not repeat that were current in the past, but now I draw new, different ones consistent with what I feel now.”

Surman is an illustrator and graphic designer who says that she “loves new challenges and travelling”. For three years she has run her own graphic studio, “working with people from around the world”. “For me,” she says, “creativity and truth are the most important in creation.”
