Drawing with Embroidery by PNCA — Portland, USA

Students will learn and employ a sampling of traditional embroidery techniques to foundational line drawing methods to create works of art with embroidery floss on new and up-cycled textiles. Basic principles to be covered will include line, value, shape, texture and color. In addition to honing their present drawing skills with in-class, graphite and paper, sketching exercises, students will learn how to translate their drawing knowledge to the craft-based skill of embroidery, with needle and thread, during in-class embroidery sessions.
