The Empty Quarter presents "No Man's Land" — Dubai, UAE — 07 MAY - 06 JUN, 2013
The Empty Quarter, Gate Village, Bldg 02, DIFC, Dubai
Mark Twain once wrote "buy land, they are not making it anymore." While only one-fourth of the Earth is covered in land, it has always been the central focus of politics, religion, and art. The vast oceans, seas, rivers and even ponds have been cast aside as things to be crossed, or mere inconveniences when it came to territorial disputes. Yet while no man has attempted to claim the majority of the planet which is covered by water, it is by no means vacant of life. For most the term 'underwater' conjures up images of bustling aqautic life, ever changing shades of blue and green, and forgotten relics of the past. It is a world some fear, while others only dare to explore the borders between land and water.
