Dave Zhan — Shanghai, China

“There are six key factors that I try to take into account in all my creations. They are: visibility, with colours and icons highlighting the core functions of the display; naturalness, i.e. that what’s demanded should be in accord with the laws of nature; consistency – in terms of product structure, interface, style and operation; cognition, meaning that users should have a clear understanding of a function and find it easy to learn how to use it; exactly the right amount of emotional rapport, neither too little nor too much; and error control, with allowance made and remedies provided for possible errors.”

Dave Zhan lives in Hangzhou and works for the Vauman interactive agency providing services for such global companies as the Shangri-La hotel group, IBM Kenexa, Starwood, Kraft Foods and Takara Tomy.
