“Collages allow me to have a pictorial space that more accurately resembles the way I experience my subject, in this case, land. When I am in the land, I not only look at the scene before me, but also the individual trees, the colours and textures of the leaves and bark. From moment to moment I am observing individual textures, shapes and colours. Within the composition of a collage I’m allowed to isolate and juxtapose those elements within the larger composition to create something that feels like a more accurate account of the experience.”
Gregory Euclide is an artist who says he loves “exploring land and our relationship with it.”
