Offthehabit - Ivan Yu — Hong Kong, China

"For me, it is just as crucial to be able to create 'my own edge' as it is simply to survive."

Born in Hong Kong, director Ivan Yu spent his teenage years in the UK. After graduating from Camberwell College of Art in London in 1999, he came back to Hong Kong and studied at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University for a design degree. He has been working as a graphic and motion-graphics designer, animator, art director and director. Currently, he is freelancing under his own label Offthehabit — directing TV commercials, music videos and live visuals for concerts.
