Rétrofuturs — Paris, France

"I am cynical by nature. I like to laugh and laugh. I treat the subjects that interest me as funny, and I also like that people view the images that I offer in their own way. So I’m still short of reality. I like black humour and prefer restraint to blind denunciation."

Rétrofuturs is “a mixture of past and future to speak about the present time” and the man behind it is Stéphane Massa-Bidal, who came up with the name years ago when he was working as a teacher and university researcher into the semiotics of software and websites. Never having had any formal training in graphic art, he suddenly found himself with lots of freedom and grids – and sought help and tips from professional-designer friends.
