Richard Hutten — Taiyou&C: Clover Stools — Rotterdam, Netherlands

Richard Hutten designed the Clover 3 and Clover 4 stool for the new Japanese startup company Taiyou&C. As the name indicates the shape was inspired by a clover. The Shape is both organic and geometric, where the top view is a circle, Hutten’s favourite shape.

The stool explores the possibilities of wood bending to it’s limit, making it a 21st century design. The stool is very elegant engineered, using a minimum amount of wood. This not only saves the forrest, but it also saves weight, which is convenient for a stackable stool. The stool comes in walnut and oak, in two sizes, for adults and children.
