OTHR — VSBY Trivet — New York, USA

Inspired by the looping shapes of freeway systems and the infrastructure of transportation, the VSBY Trivet is an imaginative take on the classic cast-iron model. Working within this language, the studio set out to create a visually compelling form that, while built for 3D printing, remains familiar.

The relationship between the feet and tracks of the trivet is inherently architectural; they act as piers supporting the deck of a bridge. The trivets can be used alone for small and medium items, or together for larger items. The VSBY Trivet is designed by Joseph Guerra and Sina Sohrab whom met at a house party, were students at RISD (the Rhode Island School of Design).
