Building on the foundation of what graffiti had done, street art has grown and become a common physical make-up within cities the world over. The fun aspect about making artworks in the streets is that there is really no limit to what you can or can’t create.
Above started out in California in 1981 and moved to Paris at the age of 19. There he established his well-known multi-layer, full-colour, social and political stencils, spinning wooden, arrow-shaped, kinetic-art installations and large, text-based, painted murals. Having travelled extensively, he has come to the conclusion that good street art should be unique to the situation, should connect with the general public that passes by, have a statement to make and a strong voice in which to make it.
