Alexia Roux — Montpellier, France

What are the essential elements that go into making a good editorial design? “Composition, typeface and harmonious colours are essential.”

Alexia Roux is a graphic designer, based in Montpellier, France, who “designs and elaborates projects of visual identity; from branding to publishing”. Her skill-sets are to do with artistic direction, print and web design, and she says that she attaches “particular importance to the uniqueness of a brand image, its signs, shapes and colours”. “I am very attached to the composition (of layout as editorial objects) and to the spatialisation of graphic projects; more precisely, to the relation of the graphic object in its space, its environment. I also have a special sensitivity for the materiality of printed objects, their relation to the body and their use scenarios.”
