"Design is quite universal, we do not think there is a typical Portuguese design that can be differentiated from other design trends around the world. These days, we don’t get inspiration directly from other pieces of design, but rather we find it in other forms of expression, such as painting, sculpture, photography and music."

Based in Lisbon, Alva is a multi-disciplinary design studio consisting of three talented designers – Ricardo Matos, Braulio Amado and Diogo Potes. Its project range encompasses identities, books, posters, typography, illustration, websites and motion graphics. The team creates wonderfully detailed design ideas and is also involved in the promotion of cultural events in the city.
