Anthony Summey — Summey Illustration — Clemson, USA

What is the attraction of creating sequential art? “It’s the ability to tell stories through images. Before we had the written word, we used cave paintings and other images to communicate ideas to one another. It just feels like the most instinctive and universal way to communicate a story — through a sequence of images.”

Anthony Summey is a freelance artist and lecturer at Clemson University, where he teaches in the Digital Production Arts Program. He received his MFA degree in sequential art from the Savannah College of Art and Design. He is currently working on the critically acclaimed Flintlock series for Time Bomb Comics and an adaptation of Pirate Blood for Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc.
