Hattie Newman — London, UK

"I started using paper and card because at university I was interested in how my 2D illustrations could come to life physically... and paper and card was the cheapest way to do this! Now that I have a bigger space to work in, I’ve started experimenting with wood as well as paper and have lots of exciting ideas for the future."

Hattie Newman is a London-based illustrator, an in-demand set designer and she devotes a lot of her energies to making fun 3D paper-crafted objects. She employs both 2D and 3D techniques and has transformed flat-plane illustration into small folding miracles that could almost be perceived as being made of flesh-and-bone.
