What is the attraction for you of creating illustrations? “Illustration is, from our point of view, an image with a strong graphic meaning made for being multiplicated — printed, published etc. It’s a way of sharing ideas, enthusiasm, stories. It’s an amazing and powerful tool that needs only a sheet of paper and a pencil! It’s a kind of magic.”
Icinori are Mayumi Otero and Raphael Urwiller, a duo of artists whose collaborative efforts have seen them illustrate, design, print and publish works across a range of mediums. They experiment and develop their passion for design, image and form in various commissioned projects (magazine illustration, animations, poster design) as well as in their publishing projects, which have seen them produce over 30 books.
