“The main challenge is to find the right image for the concepts I’m working with. Sometimes finding the images can take a lot of time, more than the composition itself. The most important thing is that the composition works as one image; cohesiveness between the elements is the key, everything needs to work as a single image. I always make sure to buy the rights of an image, or work with public-domain images. You cannot simply use an image found on the Internet.”

Israel G. Vargas is an editorial designer and illustrator, focused on developing abstract graphics for science and art subjects. His work is a constant exploration of the collage technique, both digital and analogue. His experience designing magazines has expanded his approach to the field of editorial illustration.
