Jamie McCartney — London, UK

"I have been described as 'a revolutionary with a bucket of plaster' and, although I do not wish to offend, you can’t make an omelette without breaking some eggs, as they say. If I self-edited to try to please everyone that would be artistic stagnation and my entire practice would be pointless."

Jamie McCartney is an English sculptor, trained at Hartford, US, from where he graduated with the highest honours in 1991. He often jokes about his degree: "I blame my degree in experimental studio art… I’m still experimenting." McCartney has used his craftsmanship as a means of articulating visual arguments in a blend of art and socio-politics.
