Joachim Leclercq — Lille, France

“I work for the video-games industry and sometimes animation too, and sequential art is where I feel the most free, because it’s more personal work, and therefore you have more control, over both the story and the drawing. That simply means that you can draw and tell the story you want (even if the publisher has the right to make you change things) and I think that that’s a rare opportunity!”

Graphic artist, illustrator and 2D concept artist Joachim Leclercq has worked on cartoons (Mini Wakfu, Maxi Mini), video games (Abraca) and publications (Paloma, Doggybags, Dofus, all published by Ankama Editions). He specialises in backgrounds and colourisation.
