Jon Juarez — Harriorrihar — San Sebastian, Spain

What mistakes or traps should young designers try to avoid when creating an illustration? “Drawing is choosing between options; each stroke, each composition or each resource is a choice. The larger your database, the more capable you will be to define your point of view, your style. The style is the union between gesture (calligraphy) and your way of perceiving the world around you.”

Jon Juarez says of himself: “I was not raised by wolves ... but it would have been cool. Pencils, pens, technology dragged me towards civilisation, they slammed me against it, against numbers and letters. Now, in revenge, I write words, scrawls and chaos, until those tools of hell return me to my wild state.”
