Jorge Almeida — Seattle, USA

What is the attraction for you of creating infographics? “For me it is the story-telling element. I love design, but I’ve always considered myself more of an illustrator than a designer. Before I became involved in the film world, I had written and illustrated my own comic books as well as doing some work in advertising and illustration. Designing film graphics and interfaces felt like a natural extension of my previous work – like creating abstract illustrations.”

Jorge Almeida spent 14 years working in the film industry as a user-interface designer and animator. He has been credited as lead interface designer on such films as Minority Report, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and Star Trek Into Darkness. He is currently freelancing out of Seattle.
