Julie Rousset — Paris, France

"There are many French designers, but I don’t believe there is one French graphic-design style. French graphic design is no longer the model or reference-point that it used to be. Today, it is more influenced than influential, it is not sufficient to itself."

Julie Rousset, who started working as a freelance in 2007, is attracted to two different aspects of graphic design: one is behaving like a scientist, trying to solve the problem of how to make something evident, or understandable; the other is allotting space and time for accidents, which she believes can give a new dimension to the content and make a viewer feel there is somebody behind the picture.
