Karl Grandin — Stockholm, Sweden

"My artistic activity is founded in drawing, but I work across a wide range of media, such as print design, painting, textiles and animation. I enjoy working with tactile things and that’s why I often end up doing books, posters, murals, installations and clothes rather than digital stuff."

Karl Grandin is a difficult man to shoehorn into a brief profile. After working as the art director of the influential Swedish music magazine "Pop" for two years, he founded the design group Vår with fellow-artist Björn Atldax. Grandin was a co-founder of the revolutionary clothing label "Cheap Monday" and responsible for the brand’s unique style and artwork for four years. Today he divides his time between freelance work and autonomous art projects, encompassing everything from drawings to distillation.
