“The social aspect is very important and we now and then organise a ‘print bar’. At those gatherings, drinking is as important as printing. It’s all about meeting people and getting your hands dirty.”
Based in the northern Belgian town of Hasselt, KOPIJ is a meeting place and club formed in 2013 by founders Niek Kosten, Stijn Segers, Begga Martens and Jan Bloemen. Under the banner “Print Is Not Dead”, the group is attempting to inject its town with a renewed interest in analogue printing techniques and the social aspects of the world of print.
