Mat Voyce — United Kingdom

“It’s super important to ensure whatever you are pairing feels almost in sync. The typefaces need to not fight each other or feel as if they are battling for emphasis. I always like to think that the size in which fonts are used has a huge impact on how they feel when in use with others. Finding that key balance between something that feels like a display typeface and then another that feels like a supporting font is crucial.”

Mat Voyce specialises in bringing typography to life through an expressive use of illustration and motion. His work has been seen in big-screen title work, brand identities, music videos and global social campaigns. His naive but expressive approach to animation is slowly becoming an industry standard for type in motion.
