Michael Arnold — London, UK

I have not completely mastered it yet! But to me good flat art is about creating a balance between abstraction and figurative elements, so that when you look at the image as a whole you can see exactly what it is supposed to be depicting, but when you start to analyse it, you see lots of interesting shapes have been used to build the image and an abstracted sense of depth has been created.

Michael Arnold is a 23-year-old Illustrator from the UK working in a bold and patterned style for clients such as Nike, Tate Modern, WWD Magazine, Brita Water Filters, WeTransfer, Rock En Seine Paris and more. He started his career after leaving school at 18 as a graphic designer before making the move into Illustration where he has worked solo ever since.
