Misprinted Type — Belo Horizonte, Brazil

It is surprising how the simplest ideas can become strong works and how much people enjoy the unexpected. I don’t believe that there is a formula, but rather it is a combination of intuition and originality – and well-practised skills are an important factor.

Misprinted Type is the personal world of the Brazilian artist, illustrator and typographer Eduardo Recife. His distinctive style is full of dualities and joyful vintage imagery, which has won him recognition globally. Misprinted Type has been online since 1998 and his works have been featured in books, magazines and on the web. Recife has created more than 20 typefaces over the years and exhibited his artworks worldwide. His observations on today’s social inter-actions are interesting and life-affirming.
