How does technology influence or expand your creativity towards Game Art Design? “I like to use all the tools that will take my art to the next level. The use of AR technology, especially in board games, excites me.”

Murat Kalkavan is a freelance illustrator based in Istanbul. A graduate of the Fine Arts Academy of Marmara University, he says he enjoys creating humorous character designs and stickers, and game visuals of all kinds. He adds that he tries “to emphasize the comical elements in my illustrations because I think humour has a strong, positive effect for the brands”. He has worked with advertising agencies such as Grey, Medina Turgul-DDB, Tribal Worldwide, Saatchi, Publicis, Alice BBDO, Leo Burnett, TBWA, cSection, Concept, 4129Grey and Rafineri. He has also provided visuals for a number of video game projects.
