What makes a good publication design? “The coherency between ‘content’ and ‘container’ is the most important aspect of creating a good publication design. We often focus on looking at how original or attractive a project is, without considering the relation between the physical object and its content. Whatever the format, the materials or the techniques used, if the magazine or the book represents and enhances the content, in my opinion it can be considered a good project.”

Nick Öhlo is a 26-year-old Italian graphic designer based in the city of Porto in Portugal. He is currently working for Lateral Creative Studios while at the same time studying for a master’s degree at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto.
