What is the most memorable piece of typography you have come across? “One that springs to mind is the ongoing series of compositions that Katsuhiko Shibuya does for Shiseido. I love the way these riffs on the Shiseido logo continue to evolve. They seem to spring from one to another in subtle but expressive ways. Always surprising. Beautiful anarchy.”
Kjell Ekhorn (Norwegian) and Jon Forss (British) founded Non-Format in 2000. They are known for their expressive typography, which they combine with a rigorous approach to design. Non-Format is based in Oslo and Minneapolis. In 2015 it merged with Norwegian design firm Anti, but the duo continues to collaborate closely on each project, despite the 4,000 miles and seven time zones that separate them.
