“It is closely related to the surrounding environment. One of its purposes is to give a direction to someone to reach their desired destination (from point A to point B) or simply gather information. Signs are made by prioritising functions coupled with attractive visuals, and must be easy to understand. The most obvious difference with other graphic designs is in terms of implementation — technical considerations re material, durability, also response to the space and people around it.”

O-sik is a design think-tank based in Semarang, Indonesia. It produces a wide spectrum of works ranging from graphics, identity, products, packaging, signage and way-finding for clients in diverse fields. From analysis, ideas, to production; it does field research and works with prototypes to visualise the result.
