Paul Maybury — Texas, USA

“Making comics is hard. The number one mistake is underestimating the workload and the creator’s personal growth from page to page. Beginners should tackle short stories before dreaming up their magnum opus -- especially when collaborating with a writer.”

Paul Maybury is an award-winning Chilean-American creator whose work has been featured by Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Heavy Metal, Ubisoft, Boom!, IDW, Image, Criterion and Nickelodeon. He is probably best known for his YALSA-nominated graphic novel Aqua Leung and his work on D.O.G.S. Of Mars. He also contributed work in Marvel’s Strange Tales and Eisner- and Harvey-Award-winning anthologies Popgun and Comic Book Tattoo. He has worked on Sovereign with Chris Roberson (iZombie), Valhalla Mad with Joe Casey (Big Hero Six) for Image Comics, Catalyst Comix with Joe Casey for Dark Horse Comics, Spera and Aces Weekly with David Lloyd (V For Vendetta). His latest work is his upcoming solo venture, A New Terror.
