What is the most memorable piece of typography you have come across? “I’m inspired by many different styles. One day I can enjoy researching the custom-made fonts created by Jean-Michel Basquiat for his artworks, or Cy Twombly’s abstract calligraphy. Recently I investigated the roots of the old English gothic typography currently so popular in the fashion world. I`m always trying to learn something.”

Russian artist Pokras Lampas was born in 1991 and today is one of his country’s most distinguished exponents of contemporary calligraphy. He started out creating graffiti in 2008 and soon afterwards was inspired by the “Calligraffiti” movement; hence he turned his focus to street calligraphy. He was invited to become an official Calligraffiti ambassador while working on and representing the self-developed Calligrafuturism style. He collaborates with such well-known brands as Lamborghini, YSL and Nike.
