That moment in which, starting with sketches, modules and drawings of letters, words begin to take shape. Being able to modulate the language in a totally personalised way is one of the most attractive things when creating a custom lettering.”

Rafa Goicoechea is a graphic and typography designer based in Barcelona, whose work is heavily based on the use of typography, geometric forms and the study of perspectives. His particular flair for typography and illustration tends to geometric and minimalist approaches through experimentation with letterforms. He is also co-founder of the “36daysoftype” project and a member of the Ultratypes type foundry.
