Rami Niemi — Stockholm, Sweden

“In my work I explore freedom, friendship, loneliness, solitude, happiness, guilt, shame, because those themes are close to my heart. But I’m a commercial illustrator so when I get an assignment I just try to be funny and to the point because that’s what I reckon I’m good at.”

Packed with humour and a good helping of naughtiness, the vector-based work of Finnish illustrator Rami Niemi is defined by fat black lines and lots of colour. He’s worked as a full-time illustrator since 2008 and has amassed editorial clients such as Monocle and Wired, as well as a host of advertising projects and animations. He now lives in the middle of the woods in Sweden.
