Rob hopes his embellishments will bring a surprised smile to the strangers’ faces rather than being discarded and bin-bound. When he is not pursuing this serendipitous hobby, Draper works as a freelance designer of lettering and type for brands and agencies worldwide.

Disposable items such as paper napkins, cardboard cups or give-away pencils that would be viewed by most of us as worthless after serving their initial purpose make the perfect canvas for British designer, illustrator and art teacher Rob Draper. Sometimes he will pick out just one of these “throwaway” things, at others he combines several of them, to execute his awesome lettering art on. Some of the finished pieces he keeps for himself, some he simply leaves where he found them to continue their journey with the help of random passers-by.
