She believes that gender-neutral packaging design will encourage gender equality as well as creating a more sustainable world. She wants packaging to encourage the buyer to keep it and re-use it.

Saana Hellsten is a multi-disciplinary designer from Finland living and working in New York. Being Scandinavian, she appreciates Nature, sustainability and equality. She also has a passion for timeless, functional and universal design and holistic branding. In her thesis she researched the issue of current packaging design perpetuating gender stereotypes.
