"Persistence Of Vision" is expressed in a combination of painting with a touch of collage that may leave viewers with a sense of incompleteness, which is intentional. The natural association of this concept is with Hong’s experience as a production artist in animation.
Artist Seonna Hong’s latest work Persistence Of Vision demonstrates through a series of paintings and sculptures that delve into the ideas of perception how imprints are made and how those impressions project upon the overall picture of our experience. It has recently been exhibited at LBP::Culver City in California. This series of works is based on the idea that there is a visual memory, an iconic imprint that retains an image long enough to project upon the next image directly following it.
