Sulaimarn Poh-Asae — Bangkok, Thailand

"You can't put the creative scene into a frame – artists create what they want to create and hope that it is new and interesting. I don’t want to compete with other designers, I'm happy simply to admire their work. I'm just a local designer who seeks to present my ideas about the culture and what's happening in the place where I live through my works."

Growing up in a small village in the south of Thailand, student designer Sulaimarn Poh-Asae always dreamt of becoming a cartoonist. Inspired by his father, a landscape gardener, he developed his interest in art early. He is presently studying educational technology at the Prince of Songkla University, but he continues to practise graphic design whenever he can and has taught himself all the techniques he knows.
