Sundance Tipografia — Cahya Sofyan — Bali, Indonesia
“Herb Luballin is the biggest influence on my typefaces. He is responsible for the creative visual beauty of these publications. He designed a typeface, ITC Avant Garde, for the last of them; this font could be described as a reproduction of Art Deco, and is seen in logos created in the 1990s and 2000s.”
Cahya Sofyan is a graphic designer born in Bandung, Indonesia, in 1994. He began exploring typography when he was 19, and sees it as a big part of graphic design that has stood the test of time and has “a deep connection with humanity”. He says: “Typography can also be considered as the defining spirit of culture in a specific period of time, Zeitgeist-like.”
