The Neighborgoods — Washington DC, USA

What makes a good promotional design? “I love creating promotional designs and I think that to make them good you need to create something a little unexpected. Design the outside to be fun so they'll want to open it and I also think that including something the receiver will want to use will keep you at the top of their mind year round.”

Jodi Kostelnik started her design studio in 2006, working on everything from fashion illustrations to corporate reports. It was a love of packaging cookies for her annual self-promotional giveaway that began the shift in her career towards focusing on designing for food-related clients. That led to her current business, The Neighborgoods, where she creates fun and colourful food-themed giftable goods.
