What is your most memorable window-display design? “It was the Christmas windows of the Parisian shop Le Bon Marché back in the ’90s. I will never forget the feeling of discovering these beautiful windows full of puppets and colours in the snowy December evenings.”
The use of light and a cool pastel palette in French designer Tom Haugomat’s work is reminiscent of American illustration from the 1950s and ’60s. Using light as a tool for picking out specific detail, he casts beams upon cigarette smoke, snowy hilltops and windows to direct your eye to what you really need to see.
