"For me, it doesn't really matter whether my work represents 'Thai-ness' or any particular traditions, so long as it conveys my ideas. It may be a bit of a cliché, but I consider myself to be a citizen of the world, so I don’t see any great need to show my own culture in my work."
With her exotic use of colour the most significant feature of her drawing, Unchalee Anantawat a.k.a. Leee is a passionate illustrator and animator. A graduate in graphic design from Chulalongkorn University, she worked as a freelance designer before going abroad to study in mid-2006. During two years in Australia, she took a master's degree in animation at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), as well as participating in "Tape Projects", a collective set up by local artists.
